24:00 (Firefighters on-shift)
At the start of his second year studying photography, Storm was assigned to create a photo book along with a matching exhibition.
With a background in the youth fire brigade, Storm once dreamed of becoming a professional firefighter. A common misconception stuck with him: “Firefighters don’t do anything unless there’s a call.”
He wanted to challenge that stereotype.
For this project, Storm spent 24 hours shadowing the professional firefighters of Fire Station Leidsche Rijn in Utrecht—documenting their routines, their readiness, and the quieter moments in between. His goal: to show what the job really looks like, even when the sirens are silent.

Special thanks to the Safety Region Utrecht, and the B-shift of station Leidsche Rijn.
